WHY: Our judges loved the chic design and quality feel of this bassinet, which can live a series of functional and beautiful lives once baby has grown out of it. Points were awarded for elegance, versatility, longevity and for bringing simple and stylish upcycling to the luxury market. Our judges were in raptures…

Very beautiful fabrics, the studded quilted top is really nicely done and it’s very heavy and sturdy. The edges and curves are smooth and beautifully finished.

WHO: Tutti Bambini CoZee XL Bedside Crib & Cot

WHAT: A bedside crib that allows you to sleep side-by-side with your baby from birth until approximately 6 months, when it can then be extended to become a cot suitable until 18 months. Added extension kits are available to convert the cot into a junior bed and a sofa, extending its life even further.

WHY: The chic charcoal fabric juxtaposed with beautiful warm wood in an eye pleasing contemporary design was a huge hit with the JDA panel who were amazed by its ability to transform from bassinet, to cot, to bed and beyond in equally stylish iterations. Many of our judges commented on the fact that this piece can be easily dismantled, transported and stowed away making it a super practical piece for families with limited space or who need a bed that that can travel with them.

WHO: HERA Convertible Cot Bed by Gaia Baby

WHAT: A Nordic inspired, 100% biodegradable cot that adapts with your growing child. Suitable from birth through to 5 years with toddler bed rail included.

WHY: This beautifully designed cot, which converts into toddler bed and then first bed, really caused a stir with our judges who loved the mid-century inspired, Scandi design and the soothing combination of white and sustainably sourced natural ash wood. As well as being wonderful to look at, practical elements such as three mattress heights, compact proportions and the option to extend even further into a Junior bed, really impressed. The fact that this piece of furniture is 100% biodegradable was also a big talking point. As you can see the panel had a lot to say!

My favourite in this category, a really lovely combination of function and style. It’s a sturdy and well-made cot that’s also stylish and different to what I’ve seen elsewhere - a bit of a departure from the Scandi looks we’re seeing elsewhere, more curvy and childlike which I think is very appropriate.

WHAT: Little Wren Cot Bed & Top Changer a solid pine cot set with the option of storage drawers and a changing station, designed for use from birth up to four years.

WHY: This sweet, simple cot design with space for roomy underdrawers and top changer was a big winner with our judges who could see how much this added storage and functional space would help families tight on space. A super versatile design that grows with your child, fits with multiple décor schemes and helps keep everything tidied away.

Clever product for those wanting to go from cot - toddler bed. Practical and modern.

Lots of under bed storage and a cot top changer make this great for a more compact space - somewhere to stash bed linen and so on, close to the cot. The different ways this converts are attractive too. I like the toddler rail design.
