dinosea

WINNER OF BEST CHILDREN’S ECO SWIMWEAR COLLECTION: JOINT SILVER

WHO: Dinosea
WHAT: UPF50+ sustainable and roarsome swimwear for kids
WHY: FUN. That is what Dinosea, the new aquatic off-shoot of Dinoski are all about. Our judges loved this capsule collection of co-ordinating swimwear that is bright, bold and oh so cool. The broad stripes in gorgeous colour combos gave a slight retro feel to the collection, while matching towelling ponchos with animal head shaped hoods and the cutest sun hats with ears, really made the panel smile. Keeping the planet safe is core to this brand’s ethos and our panel were excited to learn that not only do these pieces look wonderful but that each swimsuit is made from 11x 1L recycled plastic bottles!

Some super cool pieces here. I’d love to shoot this brand! It just works. I love hearing about the inspiring production process too. Clearly an honest brand. ❤

WINNER OF BEST CHILDREN’S ECO SWIMWEAR COLLECTION: JOINT SILVER

WHO: Folpetto
WHAT: Ethical Sustainable UV-Protective Swimwear for Children
WHY: Our judges were struck by these playful and whimsical designs that blend the trims and finishes you would expect to find on daywear with form fitting, well made swimwear. Two-tier ruffle necklines on sunshine yellow swimsuits and bikinis, waterfall frills on a white halter neck swimsuit and contrast piping had our panel in raptures. Although these pieces look incredibly stylish, they are made with practicality in mind and what could be more practical than preserving our planet? The panel were impressed by this brand’s eco-credentials, using eco-friendly fabric made with 100% recycled polyamide and polyester yarn from post consumer materials like discarded carpets, abandoned fishnets and other plastic waste collected from the sea.

frugi

WINNER OF BEST CHILDREN’S ECO SWIMWEAR COLLECTION: BRONZE

WHO: Frugi
WHAT: Recycled Swimwear
WHY: Putting people and the planet first is Frugi’s mantra and their gorgeous swimwear that caters for children from 0-10 years is in full alignment with this. As Frugi explain, by turning old plastic into swimwear, dependence on petroleum as a raw material is reduced as well as the amount of plastic going into landfill and oceans, thereby preventing water and air pollution and soil contamination. As well as being eco-friendly, Frugi’s swimwear features gorgeous nature inspired patterns that celebrate our planet and help children develop an affinity with nature from an early age. Our judges particularly liked the crocodile motif and some gorgeous tropical parrots.

This company really take the preservation of our planet seriously and I love their happy, shiny, rainbow powered swimwear.
