JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 PLATINUM WINNER: Best Children’s and Tween Toiletries Collection
WHO: Dandydill Way
WHAT: A children’s toiletry range made in the UK from the finest, naturally derived ingredients with a focus on sustainability
WHY: This beautifully considered range of products really does set the bar for luxury children’s toiletries. From the apothecary inspired bottles to the foraged wild hawthorn berry infused lotions and potions they house, this brand is quite literally a breath of fresh air. The brand takes its responsibilities to the planet and children’s skincare equally seriously using only FSC approved card from properly managed forests for their cartons and easily recyclable PET plastic for their packaging.
All the products in the rage parabens, SLS, SLES, sulphates, PEG, ethoxylates, MIT, silicones, artificial fragrances or artificial colourings free and the formulations themselves have wonderful textures and smells that are a pleasure to use. Huge congratulations to founder and make-up artist Tania Rodney on this slow-grown brand that continues to delight year after year.

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 GOLD WINNER: Best Children’s and Tween Toiletries Collection
WHO: Spots & Stripes
WHAT: An earth-friendly brand formulated for the unique needs of tween and teen skin.
WHY: This is such a joyful brand that manages to strike the balance between looking cool enough and working hard enough for teens and tweens to give it their seal of approval while also appealing to parents who want to give their children the best start on their skincare journey. Our panel were immediately drawn to the fun but sleek packaging and there were endless sounds of approval whenever lids were opened and noses were proffered.
The panel loved the fact that this brand was honest enough to tackle the greasy roots, sweaty bodies and inevitable spots of this often challenging chapter in a direct but nurturing way, creating a lovely supportive collection of products that enable older children to feel in control of their skincare. The fact that this brand is ethically sourced and uses 100% natural actives and 0% parabens, SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), phthalates, and other nasties was another hugely positive factor for the panel.

WHAT: Fun, efficacious children’s toiletries made with natural ingredients with an emphasis on creating a happy bedtime routine to help children get a good night sleep.
WHY: This fun and frolicsome toiletries range puts the joy into bath time, cleverly harnessing the most exciting and sometimes naughty characters from some of Roald Dahl’s most treasured children’s stories all drawn by Quentin Blake’s inimitable hand. The brand is fast becoming a household name and their newly designed, bold logo and packaging was a big hit with the judges. As well as looking great, the JDA judges also felt that these products smelt fantastic and most importantly made little children smell fantastic too!

WHAT: A naturally derived and organic kid’s bubble bath featuring the popular characters from author Julia Donaldson CBE and illustrator Axel Scheffler. Suitable for toddlers, children and tweens.
WHY: Lots of the judges adored the smells of these bath bubbles and the lids were constantly being lifted for a quick inhale of Prickly Pear Extract, Pumpkin and Wild Lily or Orange and Dragon Fruit – just a few of the brand’s original and exciting fragrances.
