WHY: Our judges all loved these beautifully illustrated and colourful keepsake books, designed to make that often tricky transition from home to nursery or school much less daunting. Leaving your parents/carers and all your familiar touchstones can be really hard when you’re little (especially when we’ve all been living at home together for so long) and although there are quite a few books on the market all about going to school, our judges felt that this was the first time they’d seen a book that really made the story personal and relatable to the child in question. The panel all agreed that the interactive elements of the books and spaces to stick photographs of your child and their new school were a great idea for helping children really connect the dots and understand they they’re about to embark on an exciting and safe new adventure. A great buy for anyone who wants to help children feel calmer and happier about the next steps!

These books would have been so helpful for my child when it was time to make the transition to big school. A beautifully designed and brilliant resource.

WHY: Finding a great baby record book that reflects your family’s style can be hard work but all of our judges felt that this beautifully designed, interactive and adaptive tome would be a eureka moment on that quest. The creator herself had searched high and low for a baby record book that wasn’t too cutesy, too cheap or too rigid in content and then decided to create her own. Our panel thought all these requirements and more had been answered and that the ‘This is Your Story’ book would be a record that many parents would love to fill out and crucially kids and adults would love to look back on. The cool design and inclusive nature - the book can be customised to suit all families, including single parent families, same sex parent families and adoptive families – makes this a modern family heirloom to be cherished.
I love the fact that this book is so inclusive and can be adapted to work for any family set up. The whole book feels really special and has a sense of fun without losing the heirloom feel that you want from a baby book.
I want one! Enough said.
Special touches like the beautiful box, gold foil embossed lettering and stylish layouts make this a baby record book that truly stands out.

WHAT: Mama Journals Weekly Pregnancy Journal and Self-care Diary
WHY: These beautiful hardbound books really appealed to our judges who recognised that pregnancy is often a chapter that so often slips by unrecorded. While there are medical notes galore (that often get lost!), the feelings and milestones that accompany the nine months of growing and carrying a child often don’t get absorbed and documented. Our panel was excited to see this lovely way of recording such an amazing chapter in a beautiful, meaningful way.
