numbers

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 GOLD WINNER: Best Baby Book 0-3 yrs

WHO: Numbers (published by oioiooi)

WHAT: A fun number picture book from innovative design brand oioiooi from Seoul, Republic of Korea. Beautifully presented and printed using eco-friendly soybean oil ink.

WHY: The judges loved this design focused numbers book that they all agreed toddlers would love. Each of the pages contains a character that holds the clue for the numbers and interactive clear films that you flip over to reveal the same object in a different setting (so when you flip the film with the apple on it, the apple is on the table then on the tree, two fingers can be rabbit's ears, three stairs on the ladder turn into butterfly stripes!). Kids will delight in this and parents will be sharing on instagram #shelfselfies.

Love the simplicity, design and the fact that it's made with soybean ink.

Modern, clean illustrations would look great on a cool modern nursery book shelf! Lots of different variations gives a lot more than just a counting book. The Perspex film is a great idea too.

WHAT: A 12-book collection of personalised stories designed to stimulate children's personal development. The beans&sparks collection is structured using the EASY framework – Emotions, Adventure, Science, Creativity and covers all the key learning skills for the early years age range.

WHY: The online judges gave these books top marks across the board for design, detail and innovation. The whole panel loved the personalised avatar that is showcased throughout all the books, devised to encourage long-term engagement and connection. As the books are created by a team of expert writers, teachers and educational psychologists - where each story addresses a specific learning outcome in a fun and engaging way - beans&sparks will always stay current and topical. Bravo on a great new product!

I love the personalized aspect. It would be especially useful reading about a new skill to a preschooler who would 100% relate to a story if they are the main character!

Such a brilliant idea. What child doesn't love a book all about themselves?! The learning message weaved through the book is the added bonus.
