Well now, it looks like we might need to spend some mummy and mini bonding time at Whistles!

The much loved high street store has just launched its debut kidswear line for girls and boys and our only question is, why didn't they do it sooner?! The 44 piece collection is packed full of playful basics, as well as some simple elevated options for smarter outfits and we found it very hard to edit the collection down to our favourite pieces - we actually love every single one.

Inspired by the design ethos of the adult collection, the kids collection for ages 3-9 years has been created with comfort, ease and fun at its heart, with the aim of enhancing play and helping kids feel cool and relaxed. Think button-up workers’ jackets, cosy jersey sweatshirts, joggers and T-shirts and relaxed-cut trousers all with a lovely quality feel. The collegiate inspired fuzzy W with monster eyes is genius and we love the extra details on dresses and all the thought that has gone into creating the perfect pair of jeans. If anything, this kids range has kind of reminded us how much we love Whistles for grown ups!

We said we only had one question, but actually we do have another one...

Would Whistles consider extending the age range of this collection? We think many of these pieces are exactly what parents are crying out for when it comes to dressing their tweens and younger teens - that rare combination of cool and contemporary that doesn't end up being too twee for kids or too garish or miniscule for parents. In the meantime, we'll be heading to Whistles for a statement collar fix and some of those brilliant jeans...
