We imagine Emma Davison and Rebecca Stoddard, feel the same about their ethically produced childrenswear brand Olivier London, which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year! How on earth did the time fly so fast and oh, haven't you grown up beautifully?!
Created to fill a gap in the market for sweet, vintage style knits that could be treasured and passed down, Olivier now counts sales of over 20,000 pieces, including a few very special royal purchases. The adorable hand-knitted Rose cardigan (see below), which inspired the entire brand, is as popular today as it was in 2011 and was later joined by a boy’s version – the Olivier - which became a sell-out when it was worn by Prince George and later as a ‘hand-me-down’ by Prince Louis. Now, the label offers a whole range of beautiful clothing, accessories and swimwear that will make anyone who loves a nostalgic nod and a hit of Liberty Print, weak at the knees.
The cream Rose stitch cardigan has been in every collection since we launched in the winter of 2011. My first born needed a little knitted jacket but I couldn’t find anything like it, and so my nanny hand-knitted her one and my light-bulb moment happened!
Wonderfully, that nanny is now Head of Production!
To celebrate a whole decade of Olivier, Emma and Rebecca decided to create a dedicated 10th Anniversary Collection, explaining, “For our 10th birthday, we have created a special capsule range and brought back 10 vintage pieces all with original details but updated with new fabrications. We also had to bring back our boy’s Olivier cardigan with its star motif that everyone loves."
