Next X Myleene Klass to launch kids fashion collection
Mothercare’s stellar celebrity designer has been snapped up by Next to create a brand new baby, kids and nursery collection for the high street brand
When one door closes, another door opens, they say and happily this is the case for Myleene Klass, whose brilliantly bold and fun designs for babies and children will now be available to buy exclusively through Next.
When Mothercare went into administration in late 2019 after 60 years of trading, it was a huge shock and from a consumer point of view, it was disappointing that popular in-house brands like Myleene Klass’ would no longer be available. Now a limited selection of the classic Mothercare brand is stocked in Boots but there was, it seemed, no sign of the celebrity collections that everyone once made a beeline for. Until now.
Brilliantly, Next has recognised the huge potential in Myleene’s upbeat, cool designs and will be releasing a Next X Myleene capsule, clothing collection for newborns and children from Jan 28th. The launch will be staggered, starting with a refined edit of clothing to begin with and then the full collection (including nursery accessories) will be available from February 22nd. The entire collection includes over 140 lines for Spring/Summer 2021 and will offer clothing and accessories catering for newborns to age 6 with prices ranging from £4 to £28.
Myleene said of the new collection for Next:
I wanted the clothes to do lots of different jobs, I want them to feel good, look good, be practical, be unisex... look fresh but still classic and include all the elements that my customers know and want from my designs - and that my own babies have enjoyed growing up with.
Fans of Myleene’s previous children’s collections will not be disappointed. The monochrome designs, adorable co-ords, bold slogans and pops of colour that make her pieces really stand out from the crowd are all there in buckets. Huge Congratulations Myleene!
