WHAT: A sustainably produced, ethically sourced, clothing label with a simple, fresh pared back feel using organic cotton and linen. Committed to respecting the environment, children's health and the people they work with.

WHY: This company has impeccable eco credentials. Founded by mother of twins Erika Gómez Villoslada who wanted to find sustainably made clothing for her twins that weren't harmful to their skin or to nature, the collection puts the environment and the future of our children first, without compromising on style. The beautiful quality of these clothes was evident to everyone and the simple but chic cuts and beautiful detailing were second to none. JDA18 judge, Junior Travel writer and founder of Mini Travellers Karen Beddow said the clothing was "Incredibly stylish and beautiful to touch." while Michelle Kennedy, founder of parenting app Peanut remarked, "I really like the eco nature of the brand. Lovely traditional designs, and BOYS CLOTHES TOO! YES! Something I would certainly buy." We can't think of better feedback than that!

WHO: SUPERLOVE MERINO

WHAT: Baby and toddler base layer sets made from the softest, 100% sustainable merino wool. Adhering to slow fashion manufacturing principles, the brand ensures every step in their supply chain matters from local production in the Lake District to biodegradable plastic packaging.

WHY: These soft and luxurious merino base layers that are perfect for playing and sleeping in impressed the judges with their softness, quality of finish and range of gender neutral colours. The company's commitment to complete sustainability and ethical production impressed our judges hugely. JDA18 judge and Junior Contributing Editor Ellie Crompton said, "Superlove Merino's dedication to biodegradable packaging in a world where single use plastic is a huge problem is fantastic and sets a precedent for other clothing companies. My 3 year-old son loves wearing merino layers and I will definitely be buying from this label in the future."

WHAT: Eco-Friendly baby wear with a passion for quality, sustainability and beautiful design.

WHY: Piupia founder and former graphic designer and 3D artist Claudia Carvalho's artististic credentials are certainly evident in her playful prints, fun motifs and use of harmonious colours. Our judges loved this 100% cotton jacquard print romper with wooden buttons made from locally sourced and recycled materials. Top UK children's fashion stylist Yvadney Davis said, "Ticks all the boxes for me. Such beautiful colour palettes and design."
