WHAT: A small artisan brand making beautifully handcrafted knitted toys that are made with 100% lambswool and a lot of love. Hand-finished with delicate embroidery and fastidious attention to detail, every piece is individually produced with slight variations making each toy one of a kind.

WHY: These beautifully designed and hand crafted dolls had such a fantastic response on our judging days and everyone loved the super cute, simple silhouettes, bright colours and adorable faces of the characters on display. An antidote to plastic overload, our judges felt these toys would become favourite childhood companions that they’d want to keep forever.

When you see an item and it makes you squeal. The artistry and quality of these knitted toys just screams heirloom. They have the same attention to detail and charm as if they were crafted by the chief knitter of your family. Love is Lauvely.
Gemma Metcalfe, founder of female empowering lifestyle store Mutha. Hood.
I love these dolls so, so much! Exquisitely made with such a joyful feel and each one has their own numbered certificate of authenticity making them feel extremely special and unique.

WHO: Polar Post - Letters from Father Christmas

WHAT: An enchanting letter writing service, that ensures personal letters from Father Christmas are delivered to excited children around the world. Written on Santa’s official notepaper, bearing the Christmas coat of arms, these lengthy notes include all the news from the North Pole, weaving in the names and details of each child for a truly personal feel. The envelopes themselves are works of art, hand-addressed by a team of elves with swirling calligraphy and then stamped with the year’s First Class stamp and franked with the official North Pole seal.

WHY: These letters are absolutely magical and capture the old fashioned, 'we do believe', spirit of Christmas to perfection. Our judges were so moved by these beautifully presented messages and many of them who hadn’t seen the service before pledged to put a word in with St. Nick this year. We think the elves are going to be very busy! Our judges wrote in their notes:

When you find a brand that promptly becomes a family tradition it really is something truly special. Making memories and bringing magic to kids is something utterly fantastic.
Gemma Metcalfe, founder of female empowering lifestyle store Mutha. Hood.

Suitable from birth, the Ferrar creatures are intended to be friends for life and are a welcome shift away from the throwaway culture we live in.

The natural fibres and neutral colour-ways used will make these a sure fire hit with parents and children who want aesthetically appealing and fun toys made with a focus on sustainably.
