JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 PLATINUM WINNER: Best Girl’s Fashion Collection

WHO: The Middle Daughter

WHAT: A sustainably made, luxury British girlswear brand launched in 2019. The collection has a fashion forward feel and features strong silhouettes, in-house designed prints and high quality fabrics. For girls age 2-14 years.

WHY: Described by the founders as a Love Letter to the modern girl, they’ll be glad to know our judges intercepted the post and fell completely head over heels with the entire collection. We lost count of the amount of times a Middle Daughter dress was pulled off the rail with a shriek of wonder. This collection was lauded for being truly unique, beautifully made and a joy to behold. Our judges felt this collection would appeal as much to the wearer  – think twirling, puffed sleeves and delicious colour combos as the giver. A fresh, contemporary collection perfect for special occasions and creating vivid memories of childhood.

Perfect for your mini me fashionista!
Tracey Sayer, Fashion Director at Fabulous Magazine and influencer at @trayslounge
One of the coolest SS collections! So fresh and unique.
Charlotte Kewely, Children’s Stylist and Blogger @thelittlestylist
This collection is stunning. The prints and colour-blocking look so fresh, the silhouettes are timeless and the quality is fantastic. Love the generous use of fabric too. Absolutely, no skimping here. A new brand scooping Platinum is testament in itself. Well done - The Middle Daughter.

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 GOLD WINNER: Best Girl’s Fashion Collection

WHO: Nellie Quats

WHAT: A contemporary girl’s clothing brand with a strong nod to tradition made from high quality, natural fabrics by a small family run factory in the UK.

WHY: There wasn’t a stitch of Nellie Quats clothing we didn’t love. Pretty ditsy prints and checks on the softest cottons, beautiful detailing in the form of pared back ruffles, bows and billowing sleeves and a high quality finish had our judges in raptures. With comfort always at the fore and loose flowing cuts that can be adjusted to fit children as they grow, this range is as practical as it is pretty and the panel loved the fact that these are clothes that will be passed down and gladly received through many, many hands.

As always a beautiful, timeless collection.

Great for girlie-girls and I love the fact that they can grow into the smock-style dresses.

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 SILVER WINNER: Best Girl’s Fashion Collection

WHO: Cute Couture

WHAT: Timeless. handmade, fully lined and hand-smocked children’s dresses for babies and children from 6 months to 6 years.

WHY: These beautifully made, traditional smocked dresses really impressed our panel who loved the incredible attention to detail and all the pretty flourishes from embroidered flowers to gathered sleeves and contrast edged Peter Pan Collars. Our judges felt these dresses would be perfect for special occasions and could be handed down through siblings and friends for years to come.

Stunning quality and beautiful designs that will never go out of fashion.
