WHY: Imagine a wild ramble through hawthorn bushes in fresh mountain air and you’ll be half way to capturing Dandydill Way’s divine scent that manages to be both fresh and comforting. Our judges loved these high quality, carefully considered formulations all presented so perfectly in beautiful apothecary inspired bottles and playful cardboard boxes. Praise for the range included the following comments:
Exceptional scent and a design that would sit happily in the bathroom without screaming it was for kids.
The detangler is absolutely amazing! We’ve tried it several times and I believe this is a brilliant, honest brand. Very gentle to babies’ skin.
WINNER: GOLD BEST CHILDREN’S TOILETRIES COLLECTION
WHO: Spots & Stripes
WHAT: An earth-friendly and gentle skincare brand formulated for the unique needs of tween/teen skin, bridging the gap between child and adult product ranges.
WHY: This product range really got our judges excited. The stylish but fun packaging was the first thing that grabbed the panel’s attention but it was the gorgeous smells coming from the bottles that caused the biggest stir. Founded by Beauty Editor Charlotte-Anne Fidler when she couldn’t find anything to suit her own 12 year old daughter’s changing skin needs, this range really is testament to her expertise and knowledge in the field. The JDA19 judges wrote in their notes:
Love your packaging and your campaign : )
Love a brand for tweens, there is definitely a gap in the market!
This is such a fantastic range and really does provide a solution for that tricky in between stage that all skin goes through in the tween and teen years. The formulations and fragrances are impeccable as you would expect from a brand founded by a magazine beauty editor and the packaging is perfect for its target audience.
WINNER: SILVER BEST CHILDREN’S TOILETRIES COLLECTION
WHO: Curly Ellie
WHAT: A children’s hair care brand developed with the specific needs of naturally curly hair in mind. The range of six products is paraben, sulfate, silicone, SLS, SLES, dairy, sulfate, synthetic fragrance and mineral oil free and all ingredients are sourced in an ecologically conscious way.
WHY: Our panel was so excited by this brand’s ethos to celebrate curls rather than seeing them as something to be tamed and flattened. When so many products are dedicated to smoothing, straightening and de frizzing it is lovely to see a company who want to make washing, detangling and styling curls a pleasurable experience and a point of pride. Extra points for the fantastic bright and graphic packaging. Our judges said:
What a great USP! : )

WINNER: BRONZE BEST CHILDREN’S TOILETRIES COLLECTION
WHO: Bramley Little B
WHAT: A soothing and restorative Hair & Body Wash for children made with a blend of sustainably grown and sourced sweet orange and lavender essential oils to help relax little ones before bed.
WHY: Quite simply, the smell! Our judges were raving about this dreamy natural scent that really does make you want to drift off on a cloud of sweet orange and lavender essential oils. Extra points were also allocated for the very sweet duck illustration (by ex-Vogue and Glamour Beauty Editor Susannah Taylor, no less) on the label and the all natural ingredients in this product.
