WHAT: The eco-conscious French brand that specializes in ultra chic sun protective swimwear for children. Canopea’s sleek swimwear is inspired by the aesthetic of the 1930’s when fuss free, simple lines dominated and pared back style triumphed. Made in Europe from recycled fibre that is certified UPF50+ without the use of chemical filters, this swimwear not only ensures better sun protection but also makes for a much more environmentally responsible product.

WHY: This swimwear brand wins on so many levels and our judges were in absolute agreement that the whole collection was a step above in terms of design, quality and function. The gorgeous pared back detailing and beautiful colour palette are stunning. Add to this the fact that the fabric is sun safe and made from recycled fibres and we’re ready to burst in applause. In fact, we may well have danced and clapped. Our judges commented:

Stunning swim range. Love the detail. So pretty : )
Abi Campbell, children’s fashion photographer
Lovely designs! Plus earth could use more eco friendly brands like this!!
Aly, founder of allmumstalk
This is my idea of swimwear heaven. When I first set eyes on this brand on Instagram I knew they had to enter the awards. The ruffles, trims and gorgeous colour palette are exactly what I’d want to dress my daughter in for a holiday dip and I'm certain many other mothers with daughters would agree.

WHAT: An eco-conscious swimwear collection for children aged 6 months to 10 years made from high performing, eco-friendly UPF50+ fabrics that are chlorine, sun-cream and oil resistant, as well as super soft, quick drying and naturally breathable. This swimwear is designed with maximum style and comfort in mind and the carefully sourced fabric offers excellent sun protection, blocking over 99.8% of harmful sun rays.

WHY: Our judges were so impressed with this brand’s commitment to respecting the planet. Not only is the swimwear fabric made with a 100% recycled polyamide fibre from post consumer materials like abandoned fishnets and other plastic waste collected from the sea, which can be endlessly regenerated but they are committed to using renewable raw materials in all their packaging to limit their impact on the environment. Eco credentials aside, this swimwear collection is beautiful and the asymmetric designs, ruffle details and printed trunks were a huge hit. Our judges said:

This brand ticks so many boxes for me: it’s truly beautiful, it provides sun protection and it’s made from eco-friendly fabric.

WINNER: SILVER BEST CHILDREN’S SWIMWEAR COLLECTION

WHO: Team Beachwear

WHAT: An ethical and sustainable swimwear range for children and adults featuring eye catching cool prints and giving families the chance to fully coordinate on the beach! With 5 prints to choose from there is something to suit everyone and the whole range is designed and made in Britain from highly durable, sustainable and UV protective fabrics.

WHY: Our judges were astounded to hear that this fantastic swimwear range is run by just one person! Mother of three, Claire comes up with the prints, the designs and oversees all the production making this a very lean operation indeed. In fact, we’d really like to know what supplements she takes. Made from highly durable, UV resistant fabrics that use fully recycled fibres, this collection is eco friendly and kids will be excited to hear that approximately 3 recycled plastic bottles make up the fabric for one pair of boy’s swim shorts. Our judges were hugely enthusiastic, commenting:

These designs are absolutely stunning and I LOVE the use of recyclable fibres.
Gabrielle Spang, founder of concept store Scandimini

WHO: King of Redonda Children's Swimwear

WHAT: A swimwear brand designed to capture the imagination of children with its bright colours and quirky prints. Comfortable styling and added elements like hidden pockets and snap-loops to hold goggles and sunglasses make these suits as practical as they are gorgeous to look at.

WHY: Everyone was drawn to these bright prints that have such a happy, uplifting feel. We also loved the fact that we could well imagine girls and boys wearing the same trunks and rashguards as each other and the added bonus that these pieces could be passed down through siblings, no matter their gender.
