Best Children's Sleepwear Collection (Child) | Junior Design Awards 2019

WHAT: A traditional nightwear brand, created by childhood friends Nicola and Delia who spotted a gap in the market when they were looking for pretty cotton nightdresses for their own children. Their collection of ethereal nightwear includes beautifully designed robes, nightdresses and pyjamas that you’d expect to see in vintage story book illustrations. The range is evergreen, so the core collection always remains the same season after season giving these timeless pieces that can be passed down through generations serious slow fashion status.

WHY: This beautifully designed and crafted nightwear collection had our judges at first, lace trimmed waft, conjuring childhoods of yesteryear when nightwear was an art-form in itself. Scalloped collars, embroidery, waterfall ruffles and pintucks are just some of the traditional details included on the nightdresses while quilting and piping on the robes and pyjama set take them up a notch from any ordinary highstreet offering. Our judges were in raptures…

Absolutely beautiful. A whimsical brand with no competition. Too beautiful for just bed though!!!
Diana Bardega, founder of design collective The Mamahood
Love the angelic quality and vintage feel to the brand.
Gayle Rinkoff, celebrity stylist
Truly Stunning nighties.
Portia Freeman, model and founder of blog Pushchairs and Platforms
Just amazing!

WHAT: British designed, gender neutral nightwear & accessories for 0-8 years in a riot of colourful prints and nature inspired motifs. As the the brand founders themselves say, this brand is gender neutral, not colour neutral! Collections include pyjamas, babygrows, dribble bibs, quilts and washbags to match in Dinos, Woodland & Jungle illustrations.

WHY: As well as being beautifully made and well cut, these joyful pyjamas really are a treat for the eyes and make bedtime something to look forward to. Our judges loved the contrast piping details in colours that truly sing and the stunning hand drawn illustrations captured everyone’s imaginations. Our Junior team were totally enamoured with the whole range…

These pyjamas are absolutely gorgeous I love the juxtaposition of the classic silhouette with fabulous contemporary prints.
Bonita Turner, Junior Editor
This is such a sumptuous pyjama collection and knowing how much time my family spend in their PJ’s I really think I’m going to have to invest. Love!
Ellie Crompton, Junior Contributing Editor and founder of The Mumday Times
Oh wow! The prints, the piping, the colours! Please tell me they do these in adult size too.

WHO: Atticus & Gilda : Kimono, Sleep shorts & Sleep mask set

WHAT: A British made children’s sleepwear company dedicated to producing small quantities of fine sleep and loungewear that can be worn from bed to beach. Known for their eye catching, dreamy prints, beautiful textures and gorgeous, imaginative details, their latest offerings are beautiful linen kimonos and eye masks that co-ordinate with matching adult versions so mother and daughter can twin in style.

These pieces are made to last and with the hope that they will be handed down from sibling to sibling - we can’t imagine anyone being unhappy with stunning hand-me-downs like this!
