Best Baby Fashion Brand | Junior Design Awards 2019

WHO: The Bonnie Mob

WHAT: The playful and stylish Childrenswear label that creates smile inducing separates with sustainability and ethical production values at its core.

WHY: Time and time again, the Bonnie Mob hits it out of the park with their gorgeous original designs that are as fun to look at as they are for babies to wear. This latest collection called Make your Mark is inspired by a range of iconic artists who in turn inspire kids to be creative and dynamic. The JDA19 judges loved the rainbow palette and the simple graphic sunshine motifs that form the basis of this collection.

Bright, bold and fun. A truly playful brand that harnesses the joy of childhood.

WHO: Sunny Side of London

WHAT: Unisex Merino wool baby & toddler blankets made from 100% extra fine Merino

WHY: These gorgeous, brightly coloured knitted blankets featuring images of life essentials like fried eggs, ice cream and milk really caught our judges’ imaginations. The sumptuous colours and simple line drawings reinterpreted in the softest wool are perfect for a modern day nursery yet still retain that hint of nostalgia we all love.

WHO: Kit & Kin

WHAT: From the makers of the ultra cute Kit & Kin eco-nappies comes this equally eco-concious , gorgeously stylish, unisex babywear range offering all the basics you need to clothe a baby and more. All made from super soft organic cotton that’s sustainably sourced, the clothes are designed to look good, feel good and do good. As part of Kit & Kin’s giving back programme with the World Land Trust, every item purchased helps fund sustainable community development projects in Guatemala, providing educational scholarships, healthcare and family planning clinics for local young women and children.

WHY: The brand’s determination to create an ethically sustainable clothing range that not only minimises its impact on the world but puts something positive back was something that all our judges were very excited about. The knitted bunny ear hat was definitely the stand out piece and we lost count of the ooos and ahhs when anyone walked by the Kit & Kin display. Huge congratulations to Kit & Kin founders Emma Bunton and Christopher Money on this debut collection.

Love this brand, especially the knitted bunny ear hat and affiliation with the woodland trust.

WHAT: An organic clothing and essentials collection for babies and toddlers available from newborn up to 4 years. MORI’s exceptionally soft signature fabric made from organic cotton and bamboo is thermoregulating and breathable to keep little ones safe and comfortable throughout the day and night.

WHY: The ultra soft fabrics, dreamy, subtle prints and incredible attention to detail, make these baby separates, blankets and sleepsuits ideal for newborns and anyone who loves the calm and serenity of a pared back palette and simple, fresh fabrics. There’s something very nurturing about this brand that extends from their skin friendly fabrics to their essential ethos and our JDA19 judges loved learning about MORI’s Kindness Project helping local families in need.

Love a brand that makes essentials and love them even more when organic! The fact that they are helping poor families too is even better.
