WHAT: A gentle, sustainably made toiletries range for babies and children, made from natural ingredients.

WHY: The judges’ response to this brand was unanimous: WONDERFUL. From the beautiful, whimsical hand-drawn illustrations on the packaging to the divine smells, biodegradable, gentle formulations and eco responsible packaging, the immense amount of thought and care that has gone into this brand was obvious. The delicate essential oil fragrances had our panel in raptures and the beautifully packaged gift set of mini products housed in the sweetest cardboard suitcase was a huge hit. An even bigger hit was the company’s commitment to thinking about the future of the planet for our children – biodegradable formulations, recyclable packaging and 5 Litre Starter Packs for refilling and 1 Litre bottles for larger families pushed this brand to the top of the leaderboard.

As a mum and beauty journalist, this brand ticks all the boxes for me. A truly conscious, feel-good brand - from its environmental credentials and cruelty-free certification through to its nourishing formulas and covetable gift sets. While a lot of brands are still weighing up the best approach to sustainability, Little B by Bramley is covering all its bases by being biodegradable, recyclable and refillable. The original illustrations are adorable and enchanting.

WHAT: An eco-conscious organic skincare brand formulated with raw virgin organic coconut oil suitable for newborn, sensitive and eczema-prone skin.

WHY: Our judges were incredibly impressed with this comprehensive collection of coconut oil based products that cover every junior skincare need. The company was started by a mother on the hunt for baby products that would be suitable for her own baby’s sensitive skin needs and the brand continues to cater for anyone looking for especially gentle and nurturing skincare. The simple, stylish graphic packaging was very popular with the panel as was the option for fragranced and fragrance-free options within the range. Several of our judges were already familiar with the range and asked if they could take samples home - which always speaks volumes! Extra points were awarded for the brand’s ongoing search for more eco-friendly packaging solutions, including cardboard packaging and bottles made from 30-100% post-consumer recycled materials which are recyclable too. Bravo!

Such a great variety of practical products.

The core product that should be in every hospital bag when you return home with your baby. It's wonderful to see the range develop and I love how incredibly nurturing all of the items are to young skin.
Gemma Metcalfe, founder of Mutha. Hood @mutha.hood
An impressive breadth of nourishing products and the brand is taking steps towards reducing its impact on the environment. This range is thoughtfully conceived - from the provenance of ingredients through to its clever applicators and choice of fragranced and un-fragranced products. The push-up Baby-Soft Balm Stick is the product I was missing from my changing bag and the Happy Scalp Cream is a much lighter and sweeter smelling substitute for olive oil.

Love the packaging and this is such a great brand for sensitive skin.

brush-baby

JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2020 BRONZE WINNER: Best Baby and Toddlers Toiletries Collection

WHO: Brush-Baby

WHAT: A 9 strong animal character range of rechargeable electric toothbrushes featuring timers and flashing lights to maintain interest and a sucker bottom to keep the toothbrush upright between uses.

WHY: This toothbrush collection scored highly for sheer cuteness and fun. We all need a little bit of brightness and cheer at the moment and these adorable brushes had everyone smiling! Cuteness apart, the more serious topic of maintaining good dental health without a regular battle at the basin was the major reason that these brushes were so popular with our judges. That nearly 1 in 4 children (23%) have a chance of having decayed teeth on their 5th birthday and that tooth decay remains the number one reason for childhood hospital admissions were sobering stats presented by the brand.

Anything that makes a kid what to brush its teeth! Top marks. : )

These little guys will brighten up any bathroom. I love the graphic characters and ergonomic handles. The brush heads are a good size and I like that there is a focus on flossing.
Charlotte Jolly, Beauty Director of Hello! and Hello! Fashion
The 0-10 years design is genius! The only issue you'll have is deciding which animal character to go for!
Fatima Truscott, Fashion Stylist and writer, @the_ft_times
Finally a toothbrush fun enough that I can imagine my children actually wanting to brush their teeth!! The design is incredibly inviting and fun. I love the characters, the light and the fact that you can charge it too.
