Harvest Moon Glamping

The glamping trend is alive and well on Lochhouse Farm on Scotland’s East Lothian coast. Here Harvest Moon Glamping offers car-free living, where wheelbarrows are the transport du jour to your luxury safari tent snuggling under the trees on the soft sandy beach dunes.

All tents have beachy interiors by stylist Monica Loudon with wood-burning stoves, en-suite WCs, hot showers and can sleep up to eight people. Children will love the comfy ‘cupboard bed’. There’s also a tree house and children’s corner with chickens, ducks, bunnies, lambs and rare breed Skyrian miniature horses. Gathering eggs and bottle-feeding new lambs are highlights.

The honesty shop sells fresh crab and lobster, and there’s a newly built barbeque house with a communal campfire. The beach is right on the doorstep to explore and there are plenty offootpaths, trails and bridalways with bike hire at the farm from £5 per day and £3 for a child seat.

Nearby, families can enjoy pony trekking, fishing, go karting, the East Links Family Park, the Scottish Seabird Centre and nearby Edinburgh. Tents cost from £485 Monday to Friday,
