Polurrian Bay Hotel
Polurrian Bay Hotel on Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula is the latest addition to the Luxury Family Hotels collection. Here parents lap up the designer furniture and wood-burning fires of the new Vista Lounge with vast views across Mounts Bay, the locally sourced cuisine, rub downs in the Purity Spa and interconnecting bedrooms with tasteful lime woollen throws and Elemis goodies in the bathrooms.
You don’t even have to think about packing baby gear as it can all be pre-ordered. Children relish the delights of The Den, an Ofsted-registered crèche where they can make shell necklaces and whizz around on Diddicars. Older children head to the Blue Room to play on Wiis, video games or table football and there’s even a posh movie room with family films most evenings.
Everyone can enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools and spectacular cliff top tennis court. Down a steep cliff path is the hotel’s own pristine sandy beach at Polurrian Cove. Nearby is the Lizard Lighthouse and scenic coastal walks, plus the Cornish Seal Sanctuary at Gweek.
Rooms start at £125 per night (based on two adults sharing) with breakfast. Children up to the age of 16 stay can stay free of charge in their parents’ room, and pay for breakfast depending on their age. Visit polurrianhotel.com.
