The Lodges at New House Farm are perfect for a family escape to the country, with that peace and tranquility you can only achieve in a rural destination - and just an hour outside of London. On the edge of the Kent and East Sussex boarder this secluded retreat offers laid-back luxury within its six relaxed and family-friendly lodges (sleeping between 2-6 people) , 300-year old, 50 metre long barn (ideal for private hire, parties or family gatherings) and its luscious farm backdrop (in the beautiful Rother Valley).

Once you find The Lodges at New House Farm you may never want to leave - host Nina and her family are relaxed and welcoming with a setting that instantly encourages you to switch off and take in the natural beauty around you. It's ideal for romantic getaways, as it is for a family holiday.

THE ROOMS:

Each of the six fully-furnished lodges that sleep between 2-6 people eachwith an internal adjoining double door between them can be kept open, making it ideal for a larger group or families.

There is two Garden Lodges (overlooking the formal gardens), two Stable Lodges (situated in a more seluced private field) and the Pool Lodges (which overlook the pool area). The lodges all feature king-size beds (and a kingsize sofabed to sleep another 2 guests), a large living space with contemporary, fully fitted kitchens and dining areas. Wood burning stoves, cast iron Victorian roll top baths (in some rooms), wet rooms, as well as TV and entertainment facilities all give you the luxury of being at home but in a beautiful, rustic setting.

THE FOOD:

Food is not provided at The Lodges at New House Farm but the team can recommend an extensive list of good places to shop, eat and drink within the local area. They do however provide a Sussex trug upon arrival which is filled with local produce (which all comes within a 3 mile radius) filled to the brim with local cheeses, bread, butter, homemade huge cookies, honey and jams along with two different apple juices and Kent apples. Meaning you can experience the amazing local produce the minute you arrive or, choose to eat it whenever you wish during your stay.

As each Lodge is equipped with a small but contemporary, fully fitted kitchen - with everything you should need to cater for you and your family - cooking on holiday can totally be done in style. Tea, coffee and sugar is provided, as is small fridge (with internal freezer compartment) or, a private chef can be arranged to cook for you in your lodge, have a meal waiting for you on arrival or even cater for a larger gathering in the Long Barn (more on that below).

THE POOL AREA:

There is one heated pool near the pool lodges - and available for all guests to use within its own gardens and terrace - which are a great setting for private daytime barbecues or hog roasts. There is a also a large hot tub evaluated to take in the views located near the stable lodges for guest use too.

Children are welcome in the pool only and under adult supervision.

THE EXTRAS:

One of the big draws for The Lodges at New House Farm - besides its peaceful 12 acres of land that means children can really roam and enjoy a free-range holiday - is the Long Barn.

This 300-year old, 50 meters long barn makes for a luxury big family getaway with a difference adding an extra special touch to any multi-generation holidays or special birthdays, anniversaries and even for a festive getaway. The Long Barn can be hired along with your booking and offers a beautiful, rustic space with kitchen facilities and a snug mezzanine (ideal for movies or reading nook) as well as leather seating, open fire and a extra long farm table. Another plus is the small farm with free roaming chickens, a couple of friendly sheep, a mini horse who are all in their own paddock and also look out for the hosts cats! You are free the visit and pet the animals but are asked to not feed them.

THE KIDS PACKING LIST:

Be sure to pack clothes set for a country adventure. As you can visit the farm animals and roam the fields meaning wellingtons, kids binoculars and a handy pac-a-mac (for any unforeseen showers) are our top tips.

Also pack some classic books as the peace and quiet lends itself to some mindfulness when the kids need to wind-down and, if you want to really get in on the country action then some dungarees are hardwearing for all that playtime on the farm and some children's travel beauty products will make cleaning up a doodle come nightfall.
