Flear Country, Devon

If your idea of Christmas relaxation is kicking back and letting someone else prepare lunch, you’ll appreciate the bespoke offering at Flear Country, a fabulous colony of holiday homes in the heart of rural Devon. The range of properties sleep anything from 2–12 people and include Flear House – a stunning, luxury five-bedroom Georgian House set in huge grounds with a lake and fabulous, uninterrupted views of the countryside – and the stylish Orchard Lodge, which sleeps six, a beautifully furnished oak barn. The Estate is exceptionally family-friendly and comes complete with high chairs and safety gates and cots, while groceries, including nappies, will be delivered to the door in anticipation of your arrival. There’s also the new Baggageman service where your bags are collected in advance of your stay and delivered directly to the property in time for your arrival. There’s plenty of on-site entertainment for children, too, with an enormous play barn and a luxury, heated indoor pool. And to enjoy a truly white Christmas at Flear, a local florist will provide white-themed wreaths for the door and tables, and there will be white candles and a crate of complimentary white wine awaiting your arrival. Four nights at Flear House, which sleeps up to ten, from December 23–27, costs £2,980. Visit
