From Claridges to the New York Plaza, these iconic hotels deliver a stunning location, superb amenities and extend the warmest welcome to children
With its imposing façade, complete with dramatic water fountain feature, Hong Kong’s oldest hotel is affectionately known as “the Grande Dame of the Far East” and has been welcoming guests since 1928. Children’s needs are well catered for at The Peninsula with cosy mini bathrobes and slippers, DVDs, board games, and children’s menus at three of the hotel’s eight restaurants, as well as via room service; bottle warmers, sterilizers and cots are also available. The Pensinsula Kids’ Academy holds hands-on classes for mini cooks under the watchful eye of the hotel’s chef, swimming classes can be arranged for water babies, and, if parents fancy a night out, babysitting can be arranged.
There are also plenty of family diversions on offer in the area. The picturesque Kowloon Park, with ornate pagodas and landscaped gardens, is a mere ten-minute walk away, the Hong Kong Space Museum, with planetarium and Omnimax cinema, is nearby, as is the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Science Museum. You could also enjoy one of Hong Kong’s favourite pastimes: shopping. Or, as the only hotel in Hong Kong with a helipad, you could take advantage of a “flight-seeing” tour of the city.
From £696 per night for a family of four.
