Winner of the Best Family Festival 2012 - Camp Bestival

Every parent has something they are loathe to relinquish when they have children. For seasoned festivallers, Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank and his wife, Josie, it was a reluctance to give up the free spirit adventure of festivals (heck, Rob even proposed to Josie at Glastonbury). The result? Camp Bestival, described as “a 1950s’ British holiday camp with a twist.” So what’s the vibe? As well as an eclectic musical offering (headliners this year include Happy Mondays, Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang and Rolf Harris), there are performances from CBBC favourite Mr Tumble, The Gruffalo and Shrek! The Musical. There’s also an entire Kids’ Field with tons of fun free activities and arts and crafts, as well as chill-out areas and boutique babysitting, plus an impressive line-up of comedy acts.
