Junior: You must mix in lots of glamorous celebrity circles. Do you ever set up celebrity play dates?
VK: Jamie Rednapp keeps telling me we should get our children together. He’s always saying, let’s set Phoebe and Charlie up on a date.
Junior: Well, you and Tess are rearing prime babies. Maybe you should set your sights on a Beckham boy.
VK: No, no, no, no, I’m not… As long as Phoebe is happy. That’s all that matters.
Junior: Are you a thoroughly modern father or more traditional?
VK: I try to bring her up as traditionally as possible by ways and means of what I explained earlier on. I think a young girl needs to know that she will have responsibilities earlier on, but she will have to fend for herself. Tess is such a strong women: I think Tess is the ultimate role model for women to be honest with you. She’s so amazing. That’s the way I want Phoebe to be. I want her to have an opinion but know right and wrong.
Junior:Do you think it’s more challenging for a blonde to be taken seriously?
VK:Tess has never taken advantage of those things. She’s so self-asssured. We’re like good cop, bad cop – and I’m the good cop.
Junior: I think you and Tess are more like a romantic Disney fairytale couple.
VK: Tess is a princess in my eyes.
Junior: So which Disney princess would she be?
VK: We love Enchanted. If you had to pin you down, Tess would probably be Snow White – you know, quite homely. Yeah, a blonde Snow White.
Junior: Have you been massaging Tessa’s pregnant bump?
VK: I love doing that. I think a woman’s most sexy when she’s with child. I love that. (going ever so slightly misty-eyed). Tess just radiates, it’s amazing. She just radiates being pregnant. We went out last night and I just couldn’t take my eyes off her. She looked stunning. It’s like a pheremone thing.
Since our interview, Vernon and Tess have become the proud parents to another baby daughter, Amber Isabella Kay, weighing 7lb 15oz. Congratulations and warm wishes from all at Junior.
