Five great garden games
Head outdoors to enjoy some imaginative fun and games – no theme park required!
Blind Walk Create an obstacle path from one end of the garden to the other. Let the contestants have a good look at the path, then blind fold them an guide them slowly down the path.
Nature Scavenger Hunt Make a list of things to find in the garden –perhaps a feather, a five-pointed leaf and a white stone –and then let teams race each other to collect them all.
Pickpocket Tag Put a strip of cloth in each child’s back pocket. They then try to grab each other’s strips without having their own strip taken. The one of the most cloth strips wins the game.
Soaking Snakes Set up a number of sprinklers between a start and finish line and get the children to run from one end to the other without getting sprayed. They can take turns to control the tap.
Splash Cards Write down the names of all the children on numbered cards and put them in a hat. The children start in a circle with “the splasher” in the centre holding a bucket of water. When their secret number is read out, as a child gets a surprise soaking before becoming the splasher himself.
