Dubbed by some as 'posh Lego', Arckit is the must have kit for budding young architects
Can Arckit give Lego a run for its money?
There’s a new construction kit in the toy aisle, and it goes by the name of Arckit; and if my 12-year-old son is anything to go by, older and/or more ambitious children are going to love it.
Created by Irish architect Damien Murtagh to encourage his profession to not rely solely on 3D computer imagery when showing clients what their completed homes would look like, the kit provides snap together doors, walls, support and roof tiles to enable you to simply design a scale-model (1:48) house.
An immediate hit with architects, Arckit’s popularity has quickly spread, first to hobbyists and now children. There are currently four kits available, with the entry level Go priced at £49.99, so it's perfect for budding young architects.
