Where? Club Vounaki, Ionian Sea
Why? You’re never too young to splash around in water and Sunsail’s children’s clubs in Greece introduce children as young as three to swimming and gentle canoeing. Between five and 17 years old, they can try sailing and windsurfing and over-eights can also join the Sunsail Youth Sailing Club (for a fee) and learn dinghy sailing to Royal Yachting Association standards. Adults, meanwhile, can try wakeboarding, waterskiing, diving and dinghy and catamaran sailing.
Once you’ve got your confidence on the waves, you can join a sailing flotilla as a family and potter gently around islands such as Cephalonia, Zakynthos and Ithaca.
Where to stay? Club Vounaki has a pool, beach, children’s clubs (from four months–17 years), fitness room, bars and restaurants. The holiday costs from £699 per person.
