Forty per cent of parents apparently take their own parents on holiday with them. To keep all the generations happy, here are tips for a relaxed holiday:
- Don’t assume that grandparents are free babysitters – they may enjoy spending time with their grandchildren but they are on holiday, too.
- Accept that they might prefer a round of golf to sitting by the pool.
- Get a villa with two bathrooms, or reserve adjoining apartments. That way everybody has some space.
- Take it as a compliment if they dote on your children and ignore you.
