Prices range from Nutmeg’s (at Morrisons) £3 to M&S’ £14. They may be more expensive but they do contain wool. Still the trousers all boast of stain repelling skills and tumble drier friendliness, making it hard to choose which we preferred.

Marks & Spencer has special hems that allow for 3 inches of growth. But you could argue that at from £3 a pair, simply buy the next size up from Nutmeg.

VERDICT: We opted for Next, as the fabric felt nice and of a decent quality, the stitching was good and hopefully they’ll be long lasting and still look good when it’s Logan’s turn to wear them!
