House of Fraser looks to the past for ‘shabby chic’ Christmas inspiration

Presents galore
 1 of 1

House of Fraser put on a show as decadent as you’d expect at it's Christmas 2012 press preview, unveiling a range of decorative styles to brighten up the household this festive season. Its Frosty theme combines heritage tweed and tartan with bold red and white patterns for a cosy effect, while it's Decadence range plays with gold and glitter-tipped details to add some sparkle to the festivities.

But the look likely to catch most eyes is House of Fraser’s take on Shabby Chic, where the halls are decked with cutesy gold leaf ball-balls, white and gold rose petal wreaths and cream dove tree decorations, not to mention the twee pastel-coloured cups and saucers to scatter round the festive table.

To carry on the vintage vibe, children will enjoy a game of classic snakes and ladders, blow football or Mousie Mousie this Christmas, with House of Fraser indulging in past kids’ favourites this year.

Finally, Biba takes one of the starring roles at House of Fraser this Christmas, with gorgeous 1920s-inspired dresses for that desired Gatsby effect for the party season. Indeed, one of the many Biba animal print items showcased is bound to make it onto your very own Christmas list – we adored the leopard print vanity case and snow leopard ‘Art Deco’ purse. Claws at the ready!
