Joe Blogs: A Shortie's Shopping Guide to New York City

Forget the fashion: what a boy wants is toys, and candy, and Lego!

Toys R Us, Times Square, 1514 Broadway at 44th Street NEW YORK NY 10036

You may be familiar with your local store. Well, prepare to be wowed by this gargantuan totes amaze store – the biggest Toys R Us in the world. To give you some idea of the scale, there’s a full-size ferris wheel in the foyer, a giant roaring dinosaur, a flying Superman holding up a car, an entire walk-in Barbie Kingdom (they even had cute Kate and Wills dolls, aaah), plus an entire floor devoted to vehicles and wheels. Yep, there's every toy craze you can imagined or dreamed off crammed into the 110,000 square of floor space.

Joe's rating: **** Loved all the boy stuff. Not sure Barbie needs quite so much space, though. But the staff are friendly and ever-so-helpful. Especially when I temporarily got separated from my mummy (I do wish she would stop wandering off!!).
