Hotel Chocolat’s cool Christmas
Chocolatier showcases sleek packaging, delicate chocolates and a sumptuous spa range for Christmas 2012
Hotel Chocolat’s flamboyant founder Angus Thirlwell marked out the Purist Christmas Wreath as his favourite piece from the upcoming range, a sumptuous wreath made from 70% pure cocoa.
Purist is an apt description of the chocolatier’s Christmas fare. The frills and gimmicks have gone, replaced (with a little help from Creative Director and ex-Vogue art director, Timothy Rennie) with chic boxes and modern flavours - think chocolate on chicken and Christmas cake flavoured chocolate squares. The idea of sharing with the family and friends still plays a key role in this determinedly modern chocolate shop, with eye-catching chocolate centerpieces and huge party boxes.
Quirky ideas such as tiny mince pie-shaped chocolates and Tiddly Reindeer will appeal to your young chocolate lovers, who’ll also enjoy seeking out the tiny red noses hidden on reindeers on the advent calendar for two.
Solid chocolate wreaths, staggeringly beautiful boxes of treats and Christmas tree decorations hark back to a traditional Christmas around the hearth. The shots of rum and champagne in the truffles will keep many a parent happy, too.
It’s the brand new spa range that will delight mum. A new venture for Hotel Chocolat, that launches a range with luxurious creams and scrubs with a surprisingly light and fresh scent, is infused with the health-giving benefits of cocoa. Keeping the whole family happy at Christmas has never been easier.
