Personalised presents that children will love, for tots to teens.
Personal and beautiful gifts they'll love (and love you for)
When you’ve thought of everything, or it seems like they have everything already, a personalised gift can be a great way of ensuring whatever you give them is unique.
From pyjamas to skateboards, there’s a special place for a personal gift in every Christmas sack, or birthday collection. Junior finds some of the most special gifts for children; from tiny tots to those tricky teens.
There are plenty of luxurious designer pyjamas out there just now, in fact, we’ve featured Luxury Pyjamas for Girls and Boys just recently. But if you want to take it that step further, then personalised pyjamas are for you. Our personal favourites are from sgt.smith and feature a very cute personalised dinosaur.
Available in red or green, they are 100% cotton rib and brushed on the inside for extra snugness. Both carry the sgt.smith sleeping stegosaurus on the front - and of course, their vitally important name.
Personalised Sleeping Stegosaurus Pyjamas, £25, sgt.smith.
Get them race ready, or perhaps they'll prefer the style of Goodwood, with this vintage classic car. The My First Years team has not only opted for a timeless classic (available in other colours, too), but has also created a fire engine and a plane to choose from, too. So as long as you can fit their name on the side (it's a maximum of nine letters) they can fly high, or save the world. Or both.
Silver Ride On Car, £120, My First Years.
Customised Nike Free Run
They (or you) can completely design these shoes from the bottom up. Choose the colour of the sole - plus any speckles, choose the colour of the laces, the colour(s) of the upper, the swoosh... You can even add an inscription of their initials inside the tongue for extra ID. No-one will ever get them mixed up at sports day again. Nor will anyone have another pair quite like them.
Customised Nike Free Rn iD, from £75, Nike.
Hand-finished Wooden Toy Box
Every home needs a toy box (or two) and this wooden box is beautifully made and hand-finished in the UK. There is a range of personalisation options, from font style to imagery, designed to suit their mood (or room). In addition to the lovely images, the box is oil treated for longevity - and has a soft-close lid for safety. We've chosen the Fairy Toy Box, but they really are all lovely.
Wooden Toy Box, £250, Little & Wild.
Luxury Baby Brogues
We adore these gorgeous George shoes from Vevian that are handmade in London from luxury leather - and look every inch a Royal shoe.
Not only are they beautifully made, with a punch detail and shoelace fastening, they come in a lined wooden gift box, which can be personalised for posterity. Perfect for baby's first Christmas, first birthday, or other special occasion, they're a gorgeous keepsake gift.
Classic Children's Brogues, Bronze or Pink, available up to a UK size 10 (age 5), £149, Vevian.
Start them young with their notebook obsession. Or, give them some pride in their books and they’re more likely to look after them? Either way you look at it, these are beautiful notepads and writing is important for children; it encourages creative thinking and helps them express feelings, too.
Choose them in various colours for holiday diaries, school notes, presents for friends and more. (You can also use them as great gifts for teachers and nursery assistants, if you're trying to avoid the inevitable bottles of wine again this term). Your chosen name is embossed on the cover.
Personalised Notebooks, from £15.84, Urban Cottage Industries.
Personalised Drinks Bottles
These personalised water canteens from the National history Museum Shop are ideal for school, or for sports clubs etc. There’s a butterfly print and a dinosaur print to choose from and, naturally, there are coordinating backpacks and mugs, too. The canteens hold 500ml and come with two tops, the sip and the pour, for tiny tots to growing kids alike. Of course, it doesn't have to be their name you personalise it with. Nor do they have to be just for children.
Personalised Mesozoic Monsters Water Bottle, £12, National History Museum Shop.
Personalised Butterfly Water Bottle, £12, National History Museum Shop.
Luxury Light Box
The über cool upgrade from a bedroom lamp, light boxes are on the list of many a design conscious teen this year. We love the plethora of options available from London sign-makers Goodwin & Goodwin. You'll struggle to narrow a choice down to just one. Whether square, wide, coloured or white, there will be a style to suit every room. You simply upload your design and get creative. (Alternatively, they can do that for you, too).
Black Light Box, 6 sizes, £175, Goodwin & Goodwin.
Custom Made Cool: Skateboards
Perhaps it's the nostalgia, perhaps it's the fact they are handmade in Cornwall, but anyway you look at these boards, they are just so very cool. The current fashion for vintage skating is still strong, whether that's 1980's roller skates, or 1970's skateboards and the team at Nudie Boards have really tapped into the zeitgeist with these.
There are two levels of personalisation options - the first, a simple addition of a name to the board. The other is a full custom build, which for the teens (and bigger kids) would be the ultimate choice.
If we had our way, we'd have the Cruiser skateboard in ash: Beach Hut Blue, below (please Santa).
Handmade Cruiser Skateboard, £320 personalised, Nudie Boards.
