ORGANIX RASPBERRY & BLUEBERRY RICE CAKES

Do you have a fussy eater? Mums’ favourite baby food Organix has come up with an exciting way to encourage your child be adventurous in his or her diet. According to a recent survey by the company, 75% of mums said that allowing your child to play and experiment with his or her food is the best way to encourage a positive attitude towards mealtimes

After further research, Organix has determined that encouraging children to experiment with food helps them gather sensory information and learn how to accept new foods. Foods with interesting textures, such as pasta and rice cakes, can help develop your child’s curiosity about food and build their confidence and enjoyment.

Nutrition Advisor Dr Frankie Phillips says, ‘The introduction of finger foods can help to develop a little one’s sense of independence, and parents can encourage a positive attitude to food by making mealtimes fun for their child and allowing them to play with and experiment with their food.’ Dr Phillips also notes that experimenting with finger foods can help develop your child’s hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and dexterity.

Here are some fun statistics from Organix’s new survey:

  • 76% of mums said that making mealtimes fun for your child helps develop positive attitude towards food.
  • 86% of mums feel it’s important for babies to handle and play with new foods before they taste it.
  • 93% of mums feel it’s important to let a baby play with and experiment with food.
  • 93% of mums recognise that the first year of a baby’s life is about fun – playing with food and developing skills.
