Crispy Garlic And Olive Oil Toasts
These garlicky toasts make a great snack, but you could also serve them alongside lots of other dishes

These Crispy Garlic And Olive Oil Toasts are even tastier than the usual garlic bread and they are ideal for introducing children to the simple joys of baking.
1 small ciabatta loaf
A handful of fresh parsley leaves
2–3 garlic cloves, halved
100ml (31/2fl oz) olive oil
- Preheat the oven to 200ºC/400ºF/Gas Mark 6. Cut the bread diagonally into thin slices. Put them on baking trays and bake them in the oven for 5 minutes, until crisp and golden.
- While waiting for the bread to bake, you can chop the parsley leaves, taking the opportunity to teach your child how to handle kitchen utensils safely. When the bread is baked, it’s time to remove the baking tray from the oven.
- Rub the toasts all over with the cut surface of the garlic. Drizzle a little olive oil over each toast, scatter over a tiny pinch of salt, sprinkle with the parsley and serve.
