Yesterday the Junior team popped along to the Autumn/Winter '10/11 New Look press show, to preview the boys and girlswear collections for all our forthcoming winter stories – despite the heat of a lovely summer's day.
For girls, the three main themes reflected the looks and moods of the women's collection. Dusk Til Dawn featured faux-fur gilets and boleros, fifties prom dresses, lace details, applique and fancy trims in greys and dusky pink and lilacs, while Admiral's Daughter mixed nautical with military, ripped jeans, checks (with a twist of sparkling flecks glamour) and tweeds. Where The Wild Things Are saw playful touches with animal prints, eyelets and studs – the look is all about layering.
For boys there were jeans in purple and bright green, playful Tees with gorillas and giraffes, aviator jackets in leather and with unusual zip features, plus an array of lumberjack inspired boyswear.
But what really took our fancy were the fabulous shoes. How amazing are these? Sheepskin-lined boots, Victorian lace-up ankle boots and studded rocker boots. Remember to get the August issue of Junior to see more fashion highlights for the new season!
