At least four species – sperm whale, bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins and Risso’s dolphins – make these Gulf-stream warmed waters their home. Only three-and-a-half hour flights from Gatwick, this is a great educational experience as well as a holiday.
The price of a three-night stay in May costs from £1,734 based on a family of four staying at the Hotel São Miguel Park. This includes flights from Gatwick, transfers and three nights’ B&B. Full-day whale- and dolphin-watching excursions are £42 per adult and £24 per child (5–10 years), and are available from April to September.
