On the top floor is the children’s bedroom, the boys on the bunk bed and Pippa on the bed by the wall. Tall shelves are lined with a collection of toys: slide back the shelves and you discover the en suite bathroom – a capsule cocooned between the children’s bedroom and the guest bedroom. 

It’s a house full of original touches, and there’s more to come. “There’s some fabulous house-shaped wardrobes by Dutch company Kast van een Huis that we’d love to get,” says Geoff. They’ve even been mulling over the possibility of a new colour for the kitchen floor. So would they ever consider shocking pink, or a zesty lime green? “We’d probably stick with another warm colour, like red or gold,” says Baukjen. Whatever they decide, the future’s bright…
