Finding their dream home was an adventure in itself for the couple, who moved here four years ago. It began one cold winter’s night when Oliver was a toddler. “We were living in Mayfair and wanted to live in a more family-friendly area,” says Baukjen. “I grew up just down the road in Hampstead village, where my parents still live. We wanted to be close to them, and then, of course, there is the heath.” So with Oliver wrapped up in his pushchair, Baukjen and Geoff scoured Hampstead. “We put cards in letter boxes explaining that we were looking for a house,” says Baukjen. “We got a call from a lady who lived next door. She told us that the old lady who had lived here had recently died.”
