Collector’s Classic: Elephant Money Box

An elephant never forgets to save and your child won't either with this Seventies Elephant Money Box

A pair of rotund Elephant Money Boxes available at Family Tree

Commissioned by a Swedish bank in the Seventies, this Elephant Money Box was given to children when they opened an account and came with the message that an elephant never forgets to save. While they are rarely seen these days, you can buy one online at Family Tree for £5. It’s already proving popular with nostalgic Swedes, and comes with a lid and key – so little savers don’t have to smash to get to their cash.
