A vintage Seventies style home

Back in the kitchen, the mood is homely and relaxed with bright painted units and jaunty Chinese lanterns suspended from the ceiling. The walls are crammed with the girls’ paintings, and life revolves around the wooden table – made to order and a present to Paul and Nicole for their wedding. “I’ll sometimes design in here, and the girls like to bake – we also do lots of painting and crafts in the winter months,” she says. “But if I am creating a new clothes collection, then I get lazy with the cooking.” On summer days, the back door is propped open and the pink garden shed becomes a playhouse for the girls. It is family life, above all, that is at the centre of this charming, colourful and relaxed home, and now it seems that Ivy and Faye are set to follow in Nicole’s eco-footsteps: adapting, saving and reusing. “Sometimes I try to have a clear out,” she says. “But every time I try to get rid of something, Ivy will go and get it out of the bin!”
