Ice-cream coloured furniture, a fantastic edit of wallpapers and gorgeous rugs that you’ll want for your own room, are all to be found on this stylish website that only stocks high quality, stand out pieces that would look fab in a super contemporary scheme or mixed up with vintage buys.

Quirky labels like Oeuf NYC sit alongside design classic like the iconic Miffy lamp and brightly coloured Tibu highchairs, while a great selection of prints and beautiful bedding from the likes of Magnus & Mouse and Nobodinoz will help you add those all important finishing touches.

2. Funky Little Darlings

If you’re after a slick, contemporary kid’s space with fresh and original details that fire the imagination and get everyone from babies to adults oohing and cooing, this is the one stop shop for you. Stocking everything from stunning cribs to wall murals and neon wall lights, say hello to shopping heaven.

For anyone who just doesn’t know where to start or simply doesn’t have the time, Funky Little Darlings founders Mandy Collis and David Quinton also offer an interior design service with three different entry points. They’ll happily create bespoke mood boards for you, a complete room scheme that you can execute or they will personally project manage a whole room transformation from start to finish. The sample mood boards on their website are definitely worth a look at if you’re on the hunt for ideas.

3. Sisters Guild

This online boutique is one of Junior’s favourite treasure troves. As well as closets full of the most gorgeous kid’s clothes, their interiors offering will appeal to anyone who loves a quirky, kitsch, vintage mix with a generous sprinkle of enchanting.

Magnetic wallpaper, disco balls, vintage style baskets and flamingo lamps sit alongside contemporary furniture and on our last visit a Moon Rocket desk took our fancy. Sisters Guild is also one of the largest UK stockists of gorgeous Danish brand Rice DK so don’t blame us if you lose hours of your life on this site.

We’re so smitten we’re seriously considering a pilgrimage to their stand alone store in Somerset…

4. Scandiborn

Anyone in love with the clean lines, clever design and soft hues of Scandinavian style should head straight to this beautifully curated website that sells everything from stunning beds and cots by Oliver Furniture to tonal ball pits that look like they should be on display in the Guggenheim Museum.

Basically, everything on this site is beautiful and refined but also proof that you can mix a pared back aesthetic with fun. Monochrome teepees, yellow eared sausage dogs and rocket bunting are just a few of the finishing touches that will keep kids and the most style conscious parents beaming from ear to ear.

5. Blue Ticking

This is a fantastic website for finding one off vintage buys that will give your playroom or nursery a truly original feel. Husband and wife team Helen and John Shaw source and upcycle all their stock themselves, favouring slightly industrial, 50’s/60’s vibe furniture and accessories.

French school desks, benches and chairs with brightly coloured powder coated legs sell out fast and other popular items include colour pop wire baskets perfect for storing toys and retro style peg boards that are great for presenting favourite pieces of art or trinkets. We also love their range of contemporary prints including an exciting collaboration with designer Gayle Mansfield.

6. Lulu & Nat

A linen chest stacked with Lulu & Nat’s heart-cheering, block print bed clothes is the dream. Designed in Britain and made in India, these light and airy linens bring a hit of sunshine into every room they grace. For kids there are endless gorgeous motifs like stars, roaming tigers, rainbows and dinosaurs and if you’re looking for something to update an adult’s room it’s only a quick mouse hop to stylish stripes and vintage Kantha quilts.

As well as bed linen, Lulu & Nat stock brightly coloured wall hangings, cushions and bunting that have a lovely homespun feel and if you want to bring the look downstairs, their printed oilcloth is perfect for kid’s who like to craft at the kitchen table.

The Zara collection changes seasonally and many items are made in limited runs, so you don’t have to worry that every child in the universe will have an identikit bedroom to yours and the baby and kids furniture is all very neutral and classic so that it won’t ever become dated like some high street offerings. The white vintage style high chair and mini rattan furniture sets are particular Junior favourites.

8. Edit 58

A place for everything and everything in its place is a great motto for keeping kids rooms tidy (we’re working on it) and Edit 58’s gorgeous baskets with bespoke embroidery are perfect for the job. Keep socks, accessoires and toys stowed away in style with these Moroccan baskets which come in a range of sizes.

A family owned business, This Modern Life set out to fill a gap in the market by stocking modern, retro and vintage inspired items that grow with your baby and pass the test of time. Mission accomplished.

11. Bobby Rabbit

All things bright, beautiful and charming can be found at Bobby Rabbit where unicorn cushions, hopscotch rugs, dinosaur lamps, tree house bunk beds and neon ice cream posters all leap out from the pages. Can you tell that we want EVERYTHING?

One of the best things about this website is that they stock lots of interiors pieces that we’ve never seen before (and we do spend our time looking at a lot of kid’s websites, believe us) so you really do get a sense of freshness and originality. No wonder they won a Platinum Junior Design Award!

12. Olive Loves Alfie

If you’re looking for beautifully designed furniture and accessories for kids with an emphasis on sustainability and ethical production this is the place to go. With a beautifully presented shop in North London and a fantastic website, everything you could want to create a fun, friendly and stylish space is here.

13. Camomile London

Camomile’s simple but sumptuous bedding in muted tones and delicate patterns will give your nursery a wonderfully relaxing and soothing feel. Created by mother and daughter design duo, Helen and Daniela Boleto to fill a gap that they spotted in the market for stylish bedding, the range extends to muslins, cushions, beautiful patchwork quilts and simple fabric toys.

As well as their own label, the Camomile London website stocks a beautifully curated selection of furniture and rugs which work perfectly with the linens, are stunning to look at and will definitely be heirloom pieces for the future.

14. No Fred

We would really love to see inside the homes of Danish No Fred founders Sandra and Signe. These ladies have a seriously good eye and everything they design is wonderfully quirky and exquisitely made. Jungle themed wallpapers featuring giant watercolour palm leaves and prowling lions, their range of mouse chairs and beautiful colour block dolls houses would all give any room a truly distinctive look. The range here might not be very broad but this is definitely a case of quality over quantity.

15. String

Kids come with a lot of stuff. A lot. Everything seems completely doable when they’re tiny babies and there are just a few rattles to squirrel away but as the years go by books, games, art materials, Lego, musical instruments and pet stick insects can make a room look fit to bursting.

The go to website for designer kids clothes and accessories also has a fantastic selection of interiors pieces. With accent wallpapers and rugs from Ferm Living, super stylish cots from Sebra and the most adorable cribs - we’re particularly smitten with this Noe&Zoe star printed one – they stock everything you need from fun accessories to more integral design pieces that you can build your nursery around. In terms of inexpensive and speedy updates we’re eyeing their range of paper lanterns and pinwheels from My Little Day and a Leopard print Mini Rodini duvet set would give an instant lift.

19. Bobokids

‘Designs with children in mind’ is this online store’s strapline and this ethos really does inform their carefelly chosen edit of kid friendly furniture and playful accessories.

Modular furniture that has plenty of storage – think bunk beds with multiple cupboards and drawers underneath, super cute pineapple night lights and gorgeous brightly painted wicker storage baskets make this a must stop store for investment buys and final flourishes.

20. La Redoute

The French Mail order company is a fantastic resource for stylish kid’s furniture and accessories that don’t cost a fortune but look as though they might. Vintage feel desks, Moroccan style rugs and cute desk lamps will pull a room together before you can say je ne sais quoi and as all interiors boffins know, it’s the best place to go for ditsy print bedding and cute fitted sheets that are again extremely well priced.We’re currently lusting over a child’s rattan day bed that could quite easily be used as a sofa or a garden lounger once it is grown out of.

21. Krethaus

Anyone who finds joy in beautifully hand crafted furniture that sings its luxury credentials from the moment you set eyes on it will love this collection from Buenos Aires sisters Karina and Vanessa Kreth. Designed with simplicity and functionality at heart, every item looks destined to become a design classic that will be passed down through generations.

We particularly love this High backed bed with integrated storage boxes at the foot and the collection also includes a gorgous range of accessories and wallpapers that complement the sublte aesthetic of the furniture. 22. Cottage Toys

If you’ve spent hours scouring the internet for vintage style metal cots and bedsteads, you may well have stumbled across Cottage Toys. And if you haven’t managed to track any down yet then halleluyah! we’ve found them for you!

Cottage Toys imports their stunning beds and cots from Australian company Incy Interiors so now us non Antipodieans can have the joy of a rose gold cot that looks like it hopped out of a Mary Poppins set too. As well as these coveted beds, the site also stocks a fantastic selection of highchairs, playroom furniture and accessories with a mixture of Scandinavian and traditional designs.

23. Liewood

The simple lines and pared back aesthetic of Nordic design are part of this Copenhagan based company’s DNA. Simple and pared back yes, but a large part of Liewood’s success is down to their very obvious sense of humour and warmth. Roadmap rugs, plates with panda faces and cloud shaped mobiles with tumbling pom pom raindrops are just a few examples of their playful touches.

The brand’s strong ethical stance is also a huge draw for parents who want to shop responsibly. This season we’re in love with a pretty ditsy print quilt that looks straight out of a 60’s attic room and who could resist a towelling changing mat with rabbit ears in a practical shade of charcoal?

Traditionalists who love soft faded linens and pretty Liberty prints should make a beeline for this gorgeous website which features the most heart fluttering bed linen for children and thankfully adults too. As well as featuring on classic duvet sets and blankets, some of Liberty’s most beautiful and best loved prints decorate everything from drawstring bags to highchair covers so that you can have a sprinkling of Liberty print wherever you go.

We also love the matching dolls linen which is specially designed to fit miniature Smallstuff cots and Tilly & Cub toy moses baskets. Oh, and there are mini patchwork quilts too. Did we just squeal out loud?

25. The Modern Nursery

As the name would suggest everything here has a cool, contemporary feel and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better edit of minimal style cots and cribs, monochrome tipis, beanbags and pared back bed linen. Some of our favourite pieces from the site are the TMN playmats in soothing colour palettes that won’t give you sensory overload the moment you walk into the playroom and the fantastic selection of wall stickers from POM le Bonhomme that are perfect for changing things up in an instant.

If you’re looking for a huge selection of interiors inspiration for children from zero to teen this is a great place to start. Crowded with hundreds of cleverly sourced, independent labels that will give your kid’s space some beautiful individual touches we don’t believe anyone could browse this sight without ending up with an overflowing basket - even if it is just in fantasy land. Le Petit Lucas de Tertre quilts, stunning furniture from the likes of Laurette and Kalon Studios, fresh and exciting wall art and new designs that delight us every season make this a site to save with a gold embossed bookmark.

27. Daisies and Dinosaurs

London based mum Gemma, wanted to create an online boutique that was the one stop shop she wished she could have found when she was decorating her daughter Daisy’s bedroom for the first time. With a focus on brands designed by fellow mums, often discovered on Instagram, this site is a treasure trove of products from independent labels.

We love that fact that this website gives you the option of shopping by theme so that you can instantly access products that reflect the style you are drawn to. And if you don’t know where to start there is plenty of inspiration to be found in the beautiful room-set imagery.

28. Little Bird Home Collection

Great style and good value go hand in hand when it comes to Jools Oliver’s Little Bird collection for Mothercare and the nursery furniture and accessories are no exception. Gorgeous bedding, THAT rainbow rug and a set of brightly coloured vintage style storage suitcases are just a few of our favourite things and the very reasonably priced furniture is perfect for giving a room a fun retro vibe that will never date. Our current favourite piece is the kid’s size Clothes rail complete with storage cubbies which creates a lovely focal point for showing off favourite vintage jackets and dresses and making shoes easy to grab.

29. Avery Row

We’re currently lusting over Avery Row’s colour pop storage baskets which are made from handwoven sisal in Kenya and finished off with a delicious neon bright stripe - perfect against painted floorboards or displayed in a brightly coloured bookshelf. As well as plenty of eye friendly storage baskets, Avery Row stocks a concise edit of lovely accessories that will put a smile on everyone’s face. Their hot air balloon printed bed sheets really float our boat, if you catch our drift...

Head to the third floor in Liberty (just off Oxford Street, London) for a great selection of kids interiors accessories. The Liberty buying team excel at finding the most covetable and gorgeous pieces for giving kids rooms the ooh factor and it’s the perfect place to find a gift for anyone decorating their nursery. Cam Cam Copenhagan rainbow mobiles, Stella McCartney cot blankets and gorgeous prints from Karin Akesson are on our nursery wish list.
