What is your name and job title?
Sarah Krass - Director of Marketing, Skip Hop
Can you tell us a little about the changing bag you have entered into the awards, and why you think it is award winning?
The Duo Special Edition is an update to our classic Duo bag that was designed over 10 years ago. We refreshed the bag with changes to the silhouette and wipeable material – which makes it very attractive to parents.
Why do you think it stands out among the plethora of changing bags available?
The French Stripe pattern is a classic and yet feels fresh at the same time. It is not a pattern customers are used to seeing on changing bags, so it is a bit of a pleasant surprise.
What do you think are the hallmarks of outstanding design in the wonderful world of changing bags? (Function, beauty, practicality…?)
At Skip Hop we truly believe outstanding products (not just changing bags) begin with innovation. We always look at a new product as an opportunity to make it better. Innovation is our hallmark.
How do you imagine the kind of mum who carries your changing bag?
We imagine a mum OR dad who carries our product is busy with life and parenthood, looking for products to make life easier while being stylish.
What do you keep in your changing bag?
We know mums and dads don’t just use our changing bags for their baby’s items - iphones, wallets, sunglasses, and other personal items are kept in the same bags. We create bags with insulated bottle pockets AND tech pockets, so parents’ and babies’ needs are both met.
Why did you enter your product into the Junior Design Awards?
We have had such an amazing response to this particular bag that we know it is special while meeting the needs of parents all over the world.
Why is it so important to have beautiful parenting accessories?
Parents don’t give up their personal style just because they have a child and we don’t think they should!
