What is your name and job title?

Martine Carroll – Managing Director

Can you tell us a little about the nappies you have entered into the awards, and why you think it is award winning?

The Pop-in new gen V2 is a reliable nappy that is easy to use & simple to care for. The nappy simply pops together for easy one-step nappy changing like a disposable. Parents love this convenient system and the reliability that the double leg gusset offers, protecting against leaks.  Birth to potty sizing means there are only 20 nappies to buy for full time use and we have improved the sizing for an even more flexible fit at the top end of the age range.  Our new innovative hidden wash tabs ensure wash time is a doddle and our soaker & boosters system allows for variable absorbency with day & night protection. Available in new prints and pastel colours as well as brights, there is something to appeal to everyone’s tastes.

Why do you think it stands out in the eco nappy department?

Over the years many parents have chosen to just Pop-in, rather than throw away. Pop-ins are as comfortable on newborns as they are on nippers, and bridge the journey from first nappy to potty training, with their cleverly positioned poppers they can grow with your baby so you only need to buy the one set of nappies to see you through to potty independence. Flushable liners make changing a doddle & our night time booster helps keep little one dry for up to 12 hours! Our unique 2 part design offers one-step nappy changing with flexibility for faster drying & varying absorbency with a special absorbent panel for extra dryness between changes. Everything for day & night time is included in our full/part-time packs, so there are no hidden costs. Our printed nappies are made with bamboo, which is a great choice for sensitive/allergy prone skin or those wanting an alternative to 100% man-made fibres

Why should parents invest in eco nappies?

The benefits of reusable nappies are threefold; economy, ecology and wellbeing. We think of reusables as an investment, which make the first few years a little easier on the pocket.
On average, reusables can save over £500 in the birth to potty stage (WEN study 2008), compared with disposable solutions…even considering the usage of water, electricity and detergents!

By using reusables you can help divert thousands of disposable nappies from the local ecosystem which is no small thing! Reusable nappies are 40%* better for the world we live in even considering the washing process (*source LCA report 2008).

There is lots of information available on some of the chemicals contained in modern disposable nappies but we believe given the choice most babies would prefer to have soft breathable fabrics (dyed and processed to oekotex standards) next to their bottoms. What would you choose for yourself?

What are your best selling designs?

Our most popular designs are our new prints for 2014 – Lion, Hippo, Robot and Russian Doll have all proved really popular since their release with our gender neutral Lion and Hippo designs fast becoming firm favourites in households across the country.  Our original and much loved Yellow Monkey print is also a top choice for Mums and their little ones.

What does the future have in store for eco nappies?

We have something really exciting planned for Spring next year which we hope will change the way many people view reusable nappies – I’d love to tell you more but right now I’m sworn to secrecy!
