Low carb diets: Fad or fiction?

Is Gwyneth's family carb avoidance a healthy choice, or puritanical fad?

Gwyneth Paltrow provoked much eye-rolling ire by suggesting she avoids feeding her children carbohydrates in her family cookbook It's All Good, but food writer and nutritionist Joanna Blythman reckons she may have a point.

“There are no nutrients in starchy processed carbohydrates that we can’t get elsewhere, often in superior form,” says Blythman. “Children  have different requirements, but filling their plates with empty calories from white pasta, bread and rice is no nutritional kindness.”

So how to replace refined carb highs for slow release energy? Try using brown rice and grains like quinoa and millet, or follow gastro-sisters Hemsley & Hemsley’s lead and layer nut butters, pesto or cheese and chutney on apple rings for a high-protein, fibre-filled lunchbox treat.

In my opinion, it may be quite easy to maintain this type of food preparation, with vast resources and assistance at home.However you might just want to keep the BIG PICTURE in mind, as they grow up and leave home,craving the foods they were prevented from having!!Ouch!!!
Keep it simple... Everything in Moderation!!This fad may be here today...gone tomorrow!

I couldn't ever diet properly. But afterwards, I went to dietagem.com and the helped me attain a much better shape and I am just so content that their advice works. It went down as amazing.
