In our book, giving due consideration to the environment is one of the hallmarks of good design. And so when we heard Dutch pushchair pioneers Joolz were putting eco-credentials to the fore in the making of their new model the Day Sense, our interest was well and truly piqued...

The outer fabric of the pushchair comprises a planet-pleasing mix of 65% organic cotton – grown without the use of chemical fertilisers – and 35 per cent recycled polyester.
The interior is made of a blend of 76 per cent organic cotton and 24 per cent organic hemp, an eco-friendly choice that has added benefits when it comes to comfort for your baby as it is resistant to bacteria, mould and UV light and therefore anti-allergenic.
The mattress bears a trusty 'Confidence In Textiles' logo, signifying that the materials it contains comply with the OEKO-TEX100 Standard, a certificate bestowed only on products that are made almost entirely without chemicals and by people who have worked in safe and healthy conditions.
Add to all that eco-goodness the ergonomic features that lie at the heart of the Joolz philosophy – such as an extendable handle and a neat foot-rest – and you have a pushchair that offers optimum comfort for both the pusher and the pushed.
As a playful compliment to this handsome carriage, Joolz have devised three intriguing cloth toys designed to stimulate the senses, and the imagination. Take a look at the video!
