Otamatone Electronic Instruments, £21.95 each

The latest musical craze from Japan, the Otamatone is a singing musical-note shaped toy.

One hand holds and/or repeatedly opens and closes the mouth by squeezing the note's rubber cheeks, the other hand controls the pitch of the tune by sliding the finger up and down the stem.

Very cute and certainly unique, it gives an electric sounding performance.

I would say that other than just these, a child could go for drums. I've been to this website which does offer some drumsets which even children could start out playing with.
