Hugo (Entertainment In Video £19.99) 127 mins

Set in Gare Montparnasse in Paris, Hugo tells the story of a young orphan, the eponymous Hugo, left to fend for himself after his father’s death (with a short cameo by Jude Law). To honour his father’s memory, Hugo uses all his ingenuity (and a little deft sleight of hand here and there) to try to repair the clockwork robotic figure his father rescued from the museum where he worked. Beautifully shot under the careful eye of director Martin Scorsese, the movie also contains many vignettes from the earliest heydays of cinema
