The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn (Paramount Home Entertainment, £9.99)

The intrepid young Belgian reporter and his loveable pooch Snowy make the leap from classic comic series to three dimnsional CGI animation with admirable faith to the original style of creator, Hergé's work. Of course putting veteran directors Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson at the helm of a project is as near to a guarantee of success as a film studio can hope for, and the talented twosome do not dissapoint. Fans of the comics will be glad to see that witty characters such as bumbling Thompson and Thomson and the well-oiled Captain Haddock stay true to hilarious form and the rip-roaring plotline contains enough swashbuckling action, dastardly plots and hidden treasure to satisfy adventure-hungry children on a rainy afternoon.
