How To Train Your Dragon

Following in the footsteps of your dear old pa is a pretty big ask when he just happens to be the most fierce of a pretty fierce Viking clan, famed for his dragon-slaying prowess rather than his fatherly patience. Young Hiccup, however, is desperate to prove his worth by slaying a dragon – only he intends to do so with his own ingenious inventions, using brains rather than brawn. The trouble is that our well-meaning hero is also ever-so-slightly accident-prone and things invariably go awry.

Then, amidst a dragon versus Viking showdown, Hiccup manages to fell the most feared of dragons, the Night Fury. Triumphant, he’s ready for his first execution – yet, looking into those piercing yellow eyes, he just can’t deal that final fatal blow. So begins Hiccup’s quest to learn new ways to live in peace with a dragon, which involves the occasional tickle under the chin, but can he convince the rest of the Vikings?

Based on the novel by Cressida Cowell and filmed in 3D, this is a dramatic adventure with explosive swashbuckling fight scenes, gnashing jaws, flaring fiery nostrils… and a happy ending.

Cert PG.
