A magical and fresh take on children's classic The Borrowers

The latest release from groundbreaking Japanese animation team Studio Ghibli (Spiritied Away, Howl’s Moving Castle), Arrietty is a modern day reimagining of Mary Norton’s classic children’s tale, The Borrowers. Under the floorboards of a sprawling Tokyo mansion, fiesty teenager Arrietty and her family live a hand-to mouth existence, borrowing to survive and desperate not to be spotted by the humans who live upstairs. When Arrietty begins to venture above ground, her adventurous spirit takes hold and the unlikeliest of friendships begins to blossom.

Beautifully detailed animation coupled with a spine-tingling soundtack ensures that Arrietty bears all of the hallmarks of a stylish Studio Ghibli production. The lush Japanese setting and imaginative cast of characters are sure to be a hit with children young and old, as well as those with fond memories of The Borrowers from the first time around. Magical and enthralling, Arrietty is a feast for the senses which is certain to delight and enthral.

Arrietty is released July 29 in both English language and subtitled versions.
